  14. Wondering if we have Kermit users out there who deal with Kermit on MSDOS
  15. machines, using a open VMS system. We want to place a computer in the home
  16. of an employee, who must stay at home because of long term illness, to
  17. communicate with our Digital server. The tech people we have contacted, so
  18. far at Digital, have been next to useless on this item. The software
  19. people push us to the hardware people and then we are sent back to the
  20. software people. A Digital consultant, who came to the office, told us
  21. three weeks ago he was not sure if we can do it, but he would let us know.
  22. Needless to say, we have yet to hear from him. Knowing what little we do
  23. about computers, we are pretty sure a solution exists somewhere. Perhaps
  24. some commware with Kermit and VT320 emulation?

  26. Also, what is the best way to get Open∩┐╜VMS Kermit into the machine? Can we
  27. download it to a machine (MS or Mac DOS) and then copy it, via a
  28. translator or modem, to the Digital? Or can we load it directly from a
  29. MS∩┐╜DOS disk? We are pretty new at this. None of the people working on this
  30. machine, now, were involved in the decision to purchase. But. we are
  31. attempting to make it work, since we now have it. (BTW, Digital's answer
  32. is to find a user's group.) Any help or direction you might be able to
  33. give us will be greatly appreciated.

  35. I could rag on the system and its problems for long time but it is
  36. counterproductive and the wrong forum. We need HELP!
